*_Job Summary:_*
The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Cardiology,//has an opening for a full-time CICU Instructor/Fellow. This position will provide the incumbent the opportunity for customized one-month rotations, including but not exclusively limited to: imaging, anesthesia, perfusion, surgery, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, general intensive care, and/or research. Our Advanced CICU fellowship provides a fellowship experience focused on training and mentorship in the diagnosis and management of acutely ill cardiac patients. This advanced fellowship has a primary clinic focus, while also allowing for further acquisition of research skills
*_Examples of Work Performed_*
* Under supervision, provide transfer of care and continuity of care to cardiac intensive care patients, both medical and surgical and/or post-interventional
* Develop and utilize in-depth knowledge base and technical skills necessary to provide high quality, safe, and efficient critical care to the full spectrum of congenital or acquired heart disease in neonates through adults
* Prepare and present cardiac intensive care focused lectures to categorical cardiology fellows
* Participate in teaching and scholarship development activities
* Collaborate with categorical fellows, residents, Advanced Practitioners, and rotating fellows from other specialties (PICU, NICU, and anesthesia)
* In-house calling as required
* Develop or work in conjunction with a faculty member on a quality initiative within CICU and serve as an active member on committees to institute CICU quality control measures
* Expand knowledge base of multiple areas in CICU by learning through discussion and application with cardiac anesthesiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, perfusionists, etc
* Prepare and present CICU related cases at morbidly and mortality conferences as requested
* Lead multi-disciplinary rounds and patient care conferences
* Prepare and lead cardiac intensive care journal club as requested (minimum of once per month)
* Self-directed readings regarding subject matter in Pediatric Cardiology
* Attendance at Pediatric Cardiology related meetings and case conferences as requested
* Participation in other educational opportunities as recommended by the faculty in the Section of Pediatric Cardiology
PLEASENOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
*Salary and Benefits:*
The hiring salary for this position is $72,163 and is non-negotiable. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

*Minimum Requirements:*
* Must possess MD or DO
* Board Certified or Eligible Medical Provider in Pediatric Cardiology
* Completion of fellowship at a nationally or internationally accredited center of excellence in any of the following areas: general pediatric cardiology, pediatric critical care, neonatology and/or anesthesiology
*Condition of Employment:*
* Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
* Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex offender background check
* Must be licensed or able to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado
*Preferred Requirements:*
* Prior training with cardiac anesthesia
*Required Competencies:*
* Ability to work across multiple subspecialties to coordinate care for patients under the supervision of the Advanced Cardiac Intervention Fellowship Training Director
* Ability to efficiently see pediatric patients in an academic setting with high customer service skills
* Ability to self-motivate with strong desire to learn
* Strong interpersonal communication skills including both written and verbal
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse patients, faculty, and other professional colleagues
